Leonard Haze & Johnny Gunn both have their roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. But their musical roots span the globe. Carmine Appice was right when he voted Lenny Haze as the "fastest foot" in 1986. Johnny has always been known for his smooth, soulful vocals. Fortunately they recognized more than those abilities in each other. The HazeXperience is a project that was discussed the first time in a smokey, pay your dues bar 25 years ago. Friends and fans of each others from their very first meeting, and on. Both Haze & Gunn had threatened to collaborate on a project someday as their paths continued to cross, the threat of working together was always broached. Finally in November 2011 they agreed to get together & "try & write a song or two". They asked mutual friend, Matt Sanguinetti, to help out playing bass and bring his writing skills. Now, it had become serious. They felt a trio was the way to go. Thinking of adding Hammond Organ on a couple of trax, Stevie "Keys" Roseman was brought into the picture. And then there were 4. This is the result of that friendship plus two other musicians added to the mix. Unfortunately, during the recording of Not Purple, Matt having family obligations had to leave the band. After many auditions to fill that chair, Larry Hart was chosen bringing his trademark low end power & a long list of credits (Ronnie Montrose, King Cobra & more). As the quote goes, “the sum is greater than the parts”. Make no mistake, this is a band made up of 4 excellent musicians/singers/songwriters. Each one of them is a major part & does his part to make it one great HazeXperience. Get some Xperience today.
